DILLER WAS A KILLER . . .

PHYLLIS DILLER WAS A KILLER WHEN IT CAME TO LAUGHTER!

She could have you rolling in the aisles in tears.
The icon of standup will be missed.
I interviewed her about 10 years ago at her Brentwood home, where she died today in her sleep. During our brief time together, she was quite the hostess, conversationalist, and tour guide [of her home].

In this pic we're standing in front of one of her paintings.

While showing us around her home, she said,
"This is the Edith Head."

GOOD [BYE], GORE

How sad it was to hear that GORE VIDAL died yesterday.  He was such a hero for me.  In 2005, I interviewed him at his home in the Hollywood Hills.  Physically, he wasn't doing very well back then, but his mind was sharp as a cooking knife.  Thankfully, his books and plays will live on and on.  A revival of his play, THE BEST MAN, is currently on Broadway with James Earl Jones, John Larroquette, Cybill Shepherd, John Stamos, Kristin Davis and Elizabeth Ashley. Thanks Gore for your wit, wisdom, and overabundant talent . . . .
