IT'S ALL IN THE LENS

Two men on the verge of stardom.  The one just below was taken by Dennis Stock in the 50s in New York, before James Dean became famous with EAST OF EDEN & REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. The one below that was taken by Davidd Batalon in New Zealand, before Dann Dulin’s leap into fame with IN BED WITH DANN & KELLY.  The similarities between the two classic black and white photos are astounding! The one by Batalon definitely possesses a higher caliber of decisive quality . . .




All the hubbub started after watching the terrific bio film, LIFE, of how Dennis Stock, a LIFE magazine photographer, met James Dean, and how a friendship grew, enabling Dennis to capture some of the most iconic James Dean photographs
