DA PIRATE & THE HENDY

Over the past few weeks I had the honor of interviewing two AIDS Activists:
Bob "Da Pirate"Bowers  and Jessica Hendy.   Bob established HIV Victorious [link below] and Jessica works with several AIDS organizations, especially Cincinnati's STOP AIDS [link below].

Both Bob and Jessica have interesting and delightful personalities, with an overriding strong compassionate force.  Bob is anchored in Texas and Jessica in Cincinnati via Broadway.
Get to know them better.  Jessica will be in A&Us April issue, and Bob in May.

KEVIN HEAVEN

I interviewed actor Kevin Zegers yesterday at my home.
He is actively involved with the Elton John AIDS Foundation and much more...
If the name doesn't strike a chord, Kevin played Felicity Huffman's
son in the spectacular film, Transamerica.
Soon he will play Clyde Barrow in Bonnie & Clyde.

MEWES-WORTHY

IT'S OUT!
My article on the wise-ass actor.
He gets naked [emotionally] and exposes his thoughts on his early days fueled by drugs and sex & on his mother's death from AIDS related cancer

Thanks, Jason, for an enlightening interview!

...and Renee for the FAB pics.

SPIRIT'S EDGE

Ever since my college days, when I read Piers Paul Read's captivating 1974 book on the 1972 plane crash in the Andes mountains, I've been obsessed with the terrifying story and totally inspired by the survivor's enduring human spirit.

When I saw the spellbinding 1993 film, taken from Read's book starring Ethan Hawke, Vincent Spano, Jack Noseworthy, and Josh Hamilton, I wanted more!  Then came a documentary in 1993 [20 years later] narrated by Martin Sheen, a few books written by the survivors after the turn of the century and now a NEW documentary  [35 years later] called, STRANDED.  Though I have some strong criticisms about the film -- simple things that would have made the film much easier to understand -- I highly recommend it.

WHO WANTS CANDY?

This girl from Dirty Sexy Money is such a delicious treat!

The star of stage, screen, TV, and cabaret, I interviewed Candis Cayne last week at her home in Beverly Hills adjacent and was taken with not only her outer beauty, but her inner beauty, as well.

Catch the coverstory in the March issue of A&U, which should be out on the stands in a couple weeks.

Me and Candis with my associate, Jill.
