"BAD DAY"....FOR US

ANNE FRANCIS died today.

Me, Anne, and Kelly

The article I wrote on her for A&U magazine....

Some snaps of the afternoon we spent with her

I found Anne to be delightful and a warm, warm soul.
We stayed in touch occasionally the past several years through phone calls and emails.
I will miss her lively spirit.

THE "BLACK" PANTHER

I am saddened by the death of BLAKE EDWARDS. Several years ago I interviewed his wife, Julie, and he was there. My heart goes out to her....

DEAR KEIR

Had an awesome interview today with KEIR GILCHRIST who plays the ever-lovable Marshall on United States of Tara.

The guy has thoughtful and intelligent things to say about the HIV/AIDS epidemic. He also has an idea on how to best reach his generation when it comes to having safer sex, and he reveals the person he'd most like to meet.

Dann & Kelly with Keir

Watch for the upcoming story on Keir in A&U magazine in early 2011

Thanks to Marc Hamou and Adam Greenberg for their valuable assistance.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN

John Lennon's death is one of those explosive moments in your memory
that you know EXACTLY where you were when you heard the former Beatle had been shot.

I was living on Ohio Avenue in Westwood, not far from UCLA and was returning home from dinner with a new beau, a British lad -- as was Lennon -- when Mike and I heard it announced on the car radio. I became numb and for the rest of the evening we talked about not only the shocking news, but how John's life had positively affected us.

Don't miss the new film, NOWHERE BOY, just released starring the gifted actor who portrays Lennon, Aaron Johnson.

Had John lived, I wonder how his creative spirit would have continued to touch me . . .
Where were you when you heard?
