HE'S A BAD BOY

Of all my writings, I think I am most proud
of the article below.

[you can also read it here:]  http://aumag.org/features/RubyOctober06.html

It took a lot of time and effort and energy to "get to" Erik.  I have always had a fasciation with crime stories!  And since I have my masters in counseling, have practiced psychotherapy, always enjoyed reading biographies even as a kid, and was an actor in my twenties -- I have always been intoxicated with human behavior.

Erik was forthcoming, witty, and friendly.  A couple of times during our 20-minute conversation, a shrill bell went off. When asked what it was, he just sort of sloshed it off saying, "Oh, it's just usual." But then by the third ding-ding-ding-ding-ding, he hurriedly said he had to go and we'd talk later.  We never did. The seriousness of the bells and his pause seemed like it might be a prison break!

Soon after the murders, friend's of friends of mine bought the house and I was invited over several times. Being there was eery, yet delightful. Just to be in the place where all this tragedy happened.....I'm a huge fan of history.
